Introduction

After building several book nooks (and one or two disasters!), I realised the best results come from mixing kits with high-quality miniature pieces.

• Kits are great… but limited
• Real magic comes from customisation
• Biggest challenge:
  • 👉 “Where do you actually find proper 1:24 miniatures?”

Why 1:24 Scale Matters

• Most book nooks are approximately 1:24 scale
• This is also known as:
  • half size
  • O scale on model railway accessories

I will mention cost as you can pay a lot for miniatures, far more than the kit value so I would limit what you select (unless you’re Elon Musk). Model Railway (O Scale)

One of the best tricks I’ve discovered…

• O scale ≈ usable for book nooks
• Great for:
  • Benches
  • Lamps
  • Crates
  • Barrels

Often cheaper and more realistic than traditional dollhouse items.

Budget Options (Temu / Amazon / AliExpress)

If you’re willing to experiment then you can get miniatures from global marketplaces but carefully check the scale and material
