There is always a first time for something to happen and this kit was it. I threw it in the bin! This is a very popular kit on the Book Nook community and because of this there are many copies of the kit. I got this from Temu for around £20, whereas on Etsy it costs about £90. So far I have not had any issues with Temu kits and they still can represent good value but there is always an exception.
Instructions
I have to say that the instructions for this kit were the worst that I have seen. Pictures of the pieces were shown rather than a schematic. This means that it is impossible to tell which way pieces go around which makes a major difference. The instructions for the lighting could have come from a Star Trek nuclear reactor guide they were so confusing and I could only work it out when I looked at a YouTube video.
Snap and click
Theoretically this kit is a snap and click where you take the pieces off the template and they click together very easily without glue. Oh no, the fit was so bad you had to glue every piece – this is exasperated by the poor instructions and having to pull pieces apart when you realise they are the wrong way around!
They also recommend you adding railings onto the staircase after it is fixed into the roof. With a poor fit and fragile pieces this was a nightmare……this was the time I decided to put it in the bin.
Harvesting

As per one of my previous posts there is an opportunity with cheaper kits to “harvest” parts to use for custom models. Apart from the lighting circuit there was nothing I thought worth keeping as there weren’t any 3D items.
Conclusion
I am not dismissing Temu kits and ironically I ordered another 2 after this disaster. What you need to check is “actual” customer reviews on the specific kit you are buying rather than A.I. generated pictures and reviews. Maybe, some time in the future I may buy this kit again from Amazon or Etsy.
